Terra Vermelha, Vida e Morte na Amazônia Brasileira
Terra Vermelha is an experimental film by Fabricio Brambatti and Tommaso Protti.
This is the Amazon without romance — lived by those covered in dust, seeking dignity through gold, or by traffickers hiding in sewers to escape death.
Amid the explicit collapse of civilization, surrounded by lush natural beauty, a sex worker waits for her shift to end so she can breastfeed her child, while a preacher numbs pain with promises of salvation as the Green Hell burns in flames.
Digging, burning, destroying, extracting, trafficking, preaching, enslaving, prostituting.
The closer one looks at the Amazon, the further it drifts from the clichés of giant water lilies and naked tribes.
Alienated tools strike in the name of wealth — but as the earth is made to bleed, what it reveals is the raw, unfiltered color of violence.
